Skatepark de Flipperkast
Amsterdam
Wedged in between the city district office and the central bus terminal of Amsterdam Noord, this largely unused parking space is lying in front of a shopping mall. A parking space of 10x40 meters was allocated by the municipality for transformation to a temporary skate park for the purpose of 'place making'.

The realised skating park has the shape of a 'flipperkast', a pinball machine. It has been the instigator for the new public sports square that arose there 5 years later.
